What does it cost?

Do you sell software that I have to install on my machine?
No, we don't sell software. You can access our service online through any standard Web browser and Internet provider. You do not need to install software and/or software updates.

What an outrageous suggestion! No, we will treat your data in the same way that we treat our own in accordance with the current legislation.

Where do I purchase broadcast credits?
Once logged in to your account, click on broadcast credits on the right hand menu and click on “Order Broadcast Credits” button. Broadcast credit pricing can be found here.
How can I pay for broadcast credits?
You can pay for broadcast credits online via PROTX, our credit/debit card facility. If you need to pay by any other method, please contact us on 01908 247724.
How long does it take to set up my Shortburst account?
Your account is created immediately after signup. If requested, it takes approximately 48 hours for us to create your email header and footer.
Is there a way of testing the newsletter and sending it to a few people rather than the entire list?
Yes, much better to be targeted and relevant (see Can I have separate mailing lists? below). You can also setup test email addresses in your control panel and send a test broadcast to them first.
How do I create our own branded templates?
You can talk us through what you’d like and our designers will create a template to match your house style or alternatively you can supply your own creative input and we’ll convert it to an html template for you.
In addition to graphics and images, can I upload songs and movies?
In our experience this can prove hazardous. We will always advise to put links through to your website where you can keep your songs, movies etc. in a place where you know they’ll work. Plus you’ll be driving traffic to your website immediately.
What size should my graphics, images or banners be?
Sizes can vary depending on your template. We will work with you to create the template then we can advise on image size guidelines for you or your team to follow.
How do I actually send the newsletter or sales bulletin?
Once you’re happy with the design layout, content and list management you can broadcast your campaign directly from your shortburst control panel.
How many newsletters can I create in my account?
As many as you wish.
Can I choose what email address my campaign is sent using?
Yes. Your campaign will be delivered to your recipients using whatever valid email address you wish. This is something you can test in the free trial.
Won’t people regard my emails as spam?
No, because you will only be using it to send emails to those who have agreed to receiving them. All templates created using emailGenerator are fully tested in different email clients to ensure maximum deliverability. We can never guarantee 100% deliverability.

Yes. You don’t need to use emailGenerator if you have HTML that you’d like to use already.
Where do I upload my mailing list?
You can upload your lists from your Shortburst control panel. You can upload a CSV file or manually type them in.
Can I have separate mailing lists?
Absolutely. Infact we advise splitting your database up and testing different strategies. It’s the best way to see what works and what doesn’t.
What does emailBroadcaster do with duplicate addresses and invalid addresses?
emailBroadcaster will automatically check your database for duplicates and every time you send an email out and will identify any soft or hard bounces thus cleansing you database every time.
Can I choose what email address my campaign is sent using?
Yes. Your campaign will be delivered to your recipients using whatever valid email address you wish.
What’s the legal situation about the data, because it’s mine not yours?
All your email addresses will be resident on our servers and we will enter into a data processing agreement with you as part of the contract. We will process your data in accordance with the law and best practice and you will therefore be complying with privacy regulation obligations.
Can anyone else use my mailing list?
Absolutely not.
When a newsletter is sent, can people see who else is receiving it?
No.
What kind of tracking is available?
emailBroadcaster will track everything you heart desires including opens, link tracking, unsubscriptions and bounces.
What happens to a bounced email?
It boings all over the ether until it is received by our servers and determined whether it is a soft bounce (temporarily undeliverable) or a hard bounce (permanently undeliverable).
If they want to, will my contacts be able to unsubscribe?
It is very bad practice to send emails without the option to unsubscribe. If you are brave you can invite people to unsubscribe in more than one place.
How "up-to-date" are the reports?
They are real time.
Can I export my email list (and data) out of emailBroadcaster?
Yes. You can export your lists from the control panel whenever you wish.

What is double opt-in?
Double opt-in will ask the subscriber to confirm that he/she has subscribed and is not a prankster. emailBroadcaster will send a confirmation email to the registered email address asking them to confirm their subscription.

The option to unsubscribe, quickly and easily.
What advice do you have regarding Subject lines?
Recipients do not read the subject line in isolation. Their reaction to the subject is mitigated by everything else they know about the email and particular the sender. If the reader already knows and trusts the sender, for example, then the subject line is released from the task of establishing that trust.
